Korean protests begin

Korean activists started a series of  “one-man picketing” in front of Thai Embassy in Seoul on the 11th July.

Two officers Korean Health & Medical Workers’ Union (KHMU), KCTU affiliate did the picketing for 2 hours. Tomorrow, one officer of KHMU and one activist of Korea Labour & Society Institute (KLSI) will do the picketing. On Wednesday, two officers of Federation of Korean Chemical Workers’ Unions (FKCU), FKTU affiliate will do the picketing.

We are planning to continue the picketing until 24 July. Two national unions have already sent their appeal letter to the Thai government –  Korean Chemical Workers’ Federation (FKCU) representing 50,000 members and the Korean Health & Medical Workers’ Union (KHMU) representing 40,000 members.
